Time for colorful, mindful play with this traditional Japanese plastic-free game!

Tumi Ishi is a Japanese game that translates into "piled stones". The pieces are wooden balancing blocks (almost always handmade) designed to mimic the non-symmetrical, multi-faceted shape of natural rocks. This gives the game an even greater connection to sustainability and plastic-free living!

The goal is simple yet engaging: stack and balance the faceted wooden blocks to build a steady pyramid tower without it tumbling down. This plastic-free game is timeless and fun to play time and time again!

Crafted with simplicity and sustainability in mind, each piece is shaped from natural pine wood and finished with safe, water-based paints. Free from synthetic plastics, this tactile game offers a screen-free, earth-friendly activity for children and adults alike.

How to Play

How to Win: There is no single "winner" or rule-bound playbook. The goal is mindfulness and focus, which makes this game a great activity to avoid aggression or competitive play. The activity is open-ended, meditative, and focused on critical thinking.

The Goal: Balance and stack the multi-sided wooden blocks on top of one another without the tower falling.

Tips for Mindful Stacking:

  • Turn and examine the various flat facets (sides) of each block.
  • Feel the weight and center of gravity of the piece.
  • Rest a facet gently against a matching angle on another block, testing different sides until you find a point of equilibrium.
  • Practice patience, fine motor control, and steady breathing.
  • Made with natural and sustainable materials

Visit our About Us Page  to learn more!

If you want to learn more about Low Plastic Lifestyle, you're in the right place. Low Plastic Free Lifestyle was started because one average guy (that's me) got fed up with how hard it was to find high value low and no plastic products online. Little things like measuring cups and sponges are easy, but minimizing plastic in larger home furnishings and other categories is WAY more difficult than it should be! I'm on a journey to fix that for myself, and I want to share what I find with others through this site.

I hope that this online store makes finding low/no plastic products easier for people, and helps plastic-conscious shoppers find products that they are excited to use. Thank you for learning more about Low Plastic Lifestyle and supporting my small business!
