Low Plastic Lifestyle was started  because one average guy (that's me, Nikke) got fed up with how hard it is to shop online for stuff without plastic.

I know it's impossible to completely cut plastic out of my life when it's in pretty much everything nowadays, but that's why I aim for moderation. I make choices to lower the plastic in my home, but don't let my life grind to a halt over what I can't change.

I started this business to try and make that way of thinking easier for myself and others. Others like you, if you're reading this!

Little things like measuring cups and sponges are easy to find online or in person, but minimizing plastic in larger home furnishings and other categories is WAY more difficult than it should be! I'm on a journey to fix that for myself, and I want to share what I find with others through this site.

I hope that this online store makes finding low/no plastic products easier for people, and helps plastic-conscious shoppers find products that they are excited to use. Thank you for supporting my small business!

  • Why are you LOW plastic, not NO plastic?

    As an online catalog of low-plastic and no-plastic products, our goal is to create an online store where customers can focus on the quality, features, and durability of a product with upfront information on how much, if any, plastic is in it. Although it would be ideal to have only 100% plastic-free products in our catalog, we recognize that unfortunately it is often only realistic to MINIMIZE the plastic in our lives, not eliminate it.

  • Why are we here?

    This store started because the shop founders were tired of having to do extensive research almost every time that they wanted to make a plastic-free or low-plastic purchase. There are a ton of really excellent guides to plastic-free products out there, but few places where customers can shop for everything minimally plastic in one place. Low Plastic Lifestyle is a personal labor of love just as much as it is a business.

  • How do we operate?

    As an online-only store, we operate by connecting directly with suppliers and manufacturers. This gets orders out more quickly AND saves on the excess emissions,  packaging, and costs that come with in-house fulfillment. Our Values: Three Real Examples

We try our best to put people and the planet first. Here three examples of how our business operations reflect our values:

  1. We do not use any optional generative AI for our marketing or product materials. Although we do not have control over the use of AI by our brand partners or hosting platforms, Low Plastic Lifestyle's creative assets are all made the good "old fashioned" way, whatever that means with graphic design! It takes a little longer, but it's worth it to know exactly how and why the graphics and marketing materials for our store came to be.
  2. Our employees are all allowed to work remotely and no one is required to use tracking software to manage their performance. As long as work gets completed on time and everyone is safe and comfortable at work, there's no need to try and micromanage or control anyone's time.
  3. We believe in human value independent of productivity. The worth of our team and customers is their existence and humanity, not monetary value or utility in the workforce. We reflect this in our work culture with No Questions Asked PTO and scheduling all team-building and social events during working hours.

What's your business model?

Instead of working from a brick and mortar shop, we operate by connecting directly with suppliers and manufacturers. This creates a direct link between customers and manufacturers, saving on the excess emissions,  packaging, and fees that would come with in-house fulfillment. Where do you ship?

We ship throughout the United States. Our shipping rates may vary by item, but we do our best to keep costs low. We operate a drop-shipping model based on specific products/suppliers with low and no plastic items. This model allows us to save significantly on shipping and operating costs, which we pass directly to our customers.

What is your return policy?

We have a 30-day return policy, but require that customers request the return or exchange within 7 days of confirmed delivery. Please visit our Refund Policy Page for more information.
