Care & Maintenance

Daily Care

Wipe down with a dry cloth as needed. To achieve a premium finish, regularly apply a natural beeswax polish or other natural polish using a dry cloth and buff up any excess polish. Make sure not to use rough or abrasive materials.

Long-term Care

• Due to the natural wax finish, any spills should be wiped away immediately using a dry cloth. The surface should be re-waxed as required.
• Always use protective coasters or mats to keep the natural finish intact for as long as possible. Do not place cups, glasses or hot items directly onto the surface as this can cause permanent discoloration or damage.
• To maintain the original pristine finish, avoid exposing the furniture to excessive heat or direct sunlight as this can cause cracking and discoloration of the timber.
• Do not use silicone based aerosol polish on the tabletop. This will remove the natural wax. Never use a damp cloth as this may also remove part of the wax coating.

Caring for Natural Materials

• Lumber comes from trees, and every tree is unique. No two tabletops will look exactly the same. This tabletop was milled and finished with proven cutting and polishing techniques to help turn minor imperfections like knots, disrupted grain patterns, dents, or even small cracks into unique design elements that do not impact the strength or performance of the material.
• A well-maintained bench will last for decades without losing its appeal or strength. As long as you take care of the wooden surface and polish/wipe it down as needed, it is unlikely to ever need replacement or professional refinishing.
• This item is artisan crafted with meticulous care. Given its handmade and hand-finished nature, variations in the wood are to be expected and celebrated. Each item is unique and no two are exactly alike, just like the trees they came from...and just like us! :)
  
• Small cracks and fissures may develop or change with changes in humidity and temperature. This is a natural, uncontrollable characteristic of solid wood furniture.
