What is everything for?

Chawan (Matcha Bowl) A wide-bottomed bowl designed whisk without splashing. This double-walled glass version has a small spout to make pouring easier, an innovative addition to the traditional design.

Chasen (Bamboo Whisk) Traditionally carved from a single piece of bamboo, this whisk is used to whip water and matcha powder to smooth, delicious perfection.

Kusenaoshi (Whisk Holder) Mirroring the shape of the chasen, this vessel is designed to hold the bamboo whisk while it dries to make sure that it remains intact. Proper use of the kusenaoshi is key to maintaining your matcha set over time.

Chashaku (Bamboo Scoop) Traditionally made from bamboo, this narrow and curved spoon is used to portion out matcha powder. Usually two scoops are used per serving.

Furui (Matcha Sifter) Set the sifter on the bowl and scoop the powder directly onto the fine mesh to break up clumps of powder before adding hot water. This gives you a smooth beverage.
