Benefits of the Strate® Detachable Handle system:

Easy Stacking
No need to awkwardly stack your pans into lopsided piles with handles sticking out at odd angles.Just remove the handle(s) and the pans will neatly nest or stack without tipping or leaning, making your storage system safer and more pleasing to the eye.

Safer Cooking
Because these stainless steel pans can be used on the stovetop or in the oven, the handle system has another big benefit: safely moving a heated pan between destinations. For example, use the long handle to place a pan in the oven and then remove the handle before closing it. When it's time to remove the pan, you can easily and swiftly reattach the handle and remove the pan from the oven while keeping your hand safely away from the heat of the oven.

Stovetop to Tabletop
Pots & pans in this collection are compatible with a long handles for maneuvering while cooking AND side handles for lifting and serving. This means that every dish can be used for both preparing and presenting meals. This means you save time AND extra mess and dishes. Just swap out the long handles for the serving handles and head to the table! Just make sure to use a trivet if the pan is still hot.

Not only can you switch between handle types, you can also switch between handle materials. Both long and short handles are available in stainless steel AND wood, giving every chef even more room to express personal style and customize the cooking experience.

Material

Cooking Pots/Pans are made from 18/10 Stainless Steel with a completely enclosed an aluminum core to promote more lightweight pieces and even and quick heat distribution.

Lids are made from 18/10 Stainless Steel and glass.

Handles are made almost entirely from 18/10 Stainless Steel, but there is a small amount of resin used in the long handle locking mechanism. Although the resin contains plastic, it does not come into contact with food and is one of the most sustainable, durable, and heat-resistant synthetic polymers available.

Detachable handles are designed to be for moving cookware from stovetop to oven or oven to table. For best practice, remove the handle the pan is on an active heat source such as a burner or in the oven. Although the locking mechanism is durable and heat-resistant, prolonged exposure can cause unnecessary strain.

What's so great about 18/10 Stainless Steel?

18/10 Stainless Steel is a high-grade metal alloy made of 18% chromium and 10% nickel. Chromium is strong and rust-proof and nickel provides extra protection against corrosion and adds a lasting shine.

Non-Magnetic: Nickel is non-magnetic, and as a result so is this material

Easy to Clean and Maintain: Dishwasher safe AND easy to wash by hand due to the smooth, strong, durable, and non-porous surface that prevents food from sticking.

Care & Maintenance

All stainless steel cookware is dishwasher safe, rust-proof, and safe for both induction and gas stovetops. You may also wash it by hand.

Regular gentle polishing of stainless steel in the direction of the gain with a soft cloth such as cotton will help your pots and pans stay shiny, but even without polishing the surface will remain tough and durable for a lifetime of delicious meals.

Wooden handles should be washed by hand if possible, but beech and olive wooden handles are dishwasher safe. Walnut wooden handles are NOT dishwasher safe and also should not be used in the broiler, microwave, etc. Regular polishing and oiling of wooden handles is recommended.

The thermo-diffuser base of the pots and pans in this system heat quickly on gas, electric, and induction stoves. The practical detachable handle system makes it possible to transform your stainless steel vessel into a serving dish by replacing the long handle with short handles.

Using The Detachable Handles

Detachable handles are designed to be used during the cooking process when maneuvering cookware from stovetop to oven or oven to table. For safety, the handles shouldn’t be left on while cooking. While heat-resistant, prolonged exposure can negatively impact the detaching mechanism over time.

Detachable Handles Sold Separately

If handles were sold with every individual pan or pot, it would ultimately decrease the efficiency of this system. We encourage you to buy one handle separately, and order additional handles later on if you find you need more to run your personal kitchen. Thank you for your understanding!

CRISTEL® has been making high-quality stainless steel cookware in France since 1826. They are officially as a French Living Heritage Company for their commitment to traditional craftsmanship.

All cookware is crafted from restaurant-quality, non-reactive 18/10 stainless steel with an aluminum core. This is a recipe for for fast, even heat distribution on any cooking surface.

Some minor components and accessories are made from materials other than steel. For example, many lids are primary glass. There are also small pieces and embellishments made from wood or thermo-setting resin. That being said, every product we stock by this brand has a 100% plastic-free food path.
